HOW COACHING WORKS

PRESENCE + PERSPECTIVES + POSSIBILITIES + PATHWAYS

The co-creative and dynamic process of Integral Coaching® involves:

  • Clarifying what is most important to you now.
  • Envisioning from new perspectives.
  • Developing insight into your unique ways of seeing and being.
  • Awareness of patterns and the way they play out in your life.
  • A renewed appreciation of your strengths.
  • A partnership where you feel supported to realize your aspirations.
  • A custom designed program with practices to support you in reaching your goals.

Sessions are conducted in-person or via Skype.

WHY COACHING?

Coaching can be supportive at many times of your life.

Perhaps…

  • You desire greater resilience and a sense of well-being to better handle the complexity of modern life.
  • There is a gap between where you are and where you would like to be.
  • What used to work doesn’t anymore.
  • What seemed so important, now no longer does.

While Western culture emphasizes being able to handle it all ourselves, there are times in our lives, when having another person, whose focus is “you”, can be profoundly supportive. You do not have to do it alone!

WHY “INTEGRAL” COACHING?

Integral means whole, complete, inclusive, lacking nothing essential.

As humans, we are profoundly complex. If you have any doubt, consider the myriad facets that contribute to you being you! There are physical, vocational, relational, emotional, social, cultural, mental, energetic and spiritual aspects of your being…and so much more.

An integral approach to coaching includes a compassionate awareness of all of these aspects and considers the ways that they may be influencing each other and ultimately impacting what is important to you.

Sound complicated? It isn’t!

HOW DOES COACHING WORK?

As individuals, we see from a particular perspective, a view from which we orient and make sense of the world. This vantage point guides what we do and how we interact with the world. While this view feels natural and has numerous benefits — it has gotten us to where we are — limitations are often revealed in challenges we face.

Following an initial conversation in which we explore what is most important to you, we will develop a program that will include your aspirations and the expanding capacities that you will progressively build to realize your aspirations. The program works as a map showing us the path, how we will travel, and where we are along the way. Fundamental to my work is listening and coming to see the world, as fully as possible, through your eyes.

Through our work together you will develop a unique view into your current way of “seeing” along with an appreciation of its strengths and awareness of its limitations. As our work progresses you will start to see patterns. Gradually what had previously been invisible—an unconscious driver—will move to become visible and will open the doorway to new possibilities.

From an Integral perspective, new seeing is not considered enough. Our ways of being— particularly habits that no longer serve us—can be quite entrenched, and so practices become vital in order to build a firm foundation for a new way. It is this foundation that supports sustainable change. These practices are collaboratively designed with you, always keeping in mind how they will fit into your daily life. The practices are simple and yet powerful.

“Although there are several other coaching approaches that call themselves “Integral”, ICC’s coaching method is the very first coaching methodology we’ve ever seen that explicitly honors and includes the full spectrum of human development—which is to say that it is the very first coaching program that fully honors and includes all of you.” ~ Ken Wilber, philosopher
