WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND THERAPY?
In coaching, we are creating clarity about what you are moving towards in your life and developing the capacities in order to do so. Coaching has a developmental trajectory which is visible in your coaching program. Its focus is on “now” and the future. In contrast, therapy tends to focus on past experiences and events and/or the impact they are currently having on someone’s life. While we cannot separate ourselves from the past there are different degrees in which those life experiences impact us. If you have any concerns or questions about whether coaching is appropriate for you, please feel free to email me.
IS OUR WORK TOGETHER CONFIDENTIAl?
As a member of ICC’s international consortium of coaches, I uphold the International Coach Federations’ Code of Ethics. All our sessions are held in strict confidence and no information can be released without your consent “except as required by law”.
HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET?
We meet every two weeks in-person or by phone. In between sessions, I am available for email check-ins especially at the beginning of your program when questions may arise.
Coaching programs generally last from four to ten months depending on the topic.
I also offer one- or two-session “check-ins” which work well for previous clients or for those seeking an “integral perspective” on a particular issue that has arisen.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT PRACTICES?
Practices are designed for you to engage in between our sessions, and work in the following ways:
Facilitate insight into various patterns playing out in your life and the ways in which they hinder you as you move forward.
Develop new and expand existing capacities to support you in realizing your goals.
All practices are designed collaboratively to ensure they fit within your day-to-day life.
The practices, along with the feedback and support of our conversations, will ultimately enable you to move from insight to the embodiment of a new way of being. This is the foundation of conscious, sustainable change.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO MEET WITH ZOOM OR SKYPE?
I work with people in different parts of the world, usually via Skype or Google+. We simply set a time that is convenient for us both.
“When we move in a direction that touches our heart, we add to the momentum of deeper purpose that makes us feel more alive.”
